Staffing
Safeguarding children is of paramount importance to us and as such our recruitment process criteria ensure children are protected. We also make certain our staff are fit, knowledgeable, sympathetic and patient with children. We operate to a very high ratio of well-qualified staff, acknowledging the requirement of OFSTED. Those ratios being:
- One staff for every 3 children aged 0-2 years
- One staff for every 4 children aged 2-3 years
- One staff for every 8 children aged 3-5 years
However we endeavour to attain a much higher level of staffing ratios, wherever possible.
Staff knowledge and training in the supervision of our children and in working with the children is of prime importance. In addition to our regular internal training and development programmes we established a good training base with the local authority, ensuring that our staff are kept completely up to date with childcare and management issues along with any changes in childcare legislation.
Staff Training Days:
'There are three staff training days and the nursery will be closed. This allows use focus on planning and regrouping. These are one day each in January, April and September.

Meals:
We believe food is very important to growing children.
All meals are prepared daily from our on-site kitchen by our trained chef from fresh ingredients that have been carefully selected. The meals are well prepared to ensure the nutrients are maintained. We are confident in our ‘FIVE STAR’ rated operation. (Awarded by the ‘Better Cooking Better Business’ scheme)
Our menu has been adapted for the children’s individual needs and likes. We have a no nuts policy. We ask our parents to do the same when bringing food or treats for the children.

Our Policies
In order for us to run effectively and consistently, we have derived policies and procedures that meet all relevant laws and OFSTED requirements. These policies and procedures ensures we take care of the wellbeing, safety and happiness of the children in our care. A copy of our policies and procedure is placed in the office.
