Our Nursery

The nursery is split into three groups. The babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers.

Babies
Our dedicated baby room is equipped to fully cater for babies up till 24months, taking into consideration their unique and highly specialised needs.

We have a wide range of explorative objects and baskets for heuristic play which has been proven to support cognitive development and concentration. Some of the activities we have for the babies includes: painting, messy play, role play, sand and water. There is also direct access to a secluded outdoor area.

Toddlers
We know that our two year old are just coming out of babyhood. Grouping our two year old's allows us develop activities and experiences appropriate for this crucial age group.

The environment has been designed to cater for their developmental needs. The simplicity of the layout and the large space ensure the children are appropriately stimulated and are able to move about freely. Toys and equipment can be explored on child-size tables or on the floor.

We work with our parents to potty train the children when they are ready.

Preschoolers
The preschooler group is for the three year old's and over.

In planning the day and experiences of this group, we have carefully looked at their physical ability, language development, individual and social skills and their developing inquisitive minds to come up with a rhythm that meets their needs while bearing in mind their individual needs and interest in a fun and caring way.

Our schedule is adapted to ensure the children are ready for school. School readiness does not just mean being able to identify and pick their name from a list but having the right attitude and skill for school.

Language skill (ability to speak and listen) is very important as without this important ability, education and learning cannot be accessed (even in later life). Our implementation of ‘ECaT’ programme provides solid bedrock for language development.

Special Programmes:
Stretch-n- Grow: All the children participate in a weekly programme of exercises designed for children between the ages of one and six years old by ‘the worlds leading programme for children Health and Exercises’.

Eco Project: Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.

‘ECaT ’: This is a programme that supports the child’s language skills. Without communication skills a person (or a child for that matter) cannot access learning.

Happy Projects: The HAPPY project is an early years health promotion initiative which is part of Newham Healthy Schools Scheme and the National Healthy Schools Standard. HAPPY health topics include Road Safety, Physical Activity, Emotional Well-being, Environment and Healthy Eating.
