Our Curriculum

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum as stipulated by the Department of Education.

The children are encouraged to express themselves verbally, and also through music, story, drama, art and cookery. The different activities and experiences emphasise early literacy, numeracy and the development of social skills. Pre-reading and pre-maths activities and games are integrated into our planning.

We celebrate different festivals throughout the year which we welcome you to be a part of. We provide inclusive, stimulating and multicultural environment to all children. The children are engaged in many stimulating fun activities throughout the week, which promote development, healthy lifestyle and being active. These includes Stretch-and-Grow, walks to the park and places of interest,

Children are also encouraged to get involved in imaginary play, role play and solve problems as part of a group, carry out large or small scale construction and play games to build them up cognitively.

We are fortunate in having a well-stocked children's library, which is constantly updated with new and interesting books.

Each day there is sand, water, painting and a variety of visual arts, malleable materials, large and small scale construction, puzzles, mark making, dressing-up and role play areas, climbing and balancing equipment, and a variety of bikes, cars, scooters and hoops. The children have access to outside play area daily. For us, learning is both inside and outside.

Social development is by no means trivialise. In their first year, children are happy to engage in parallel play with peers, however some children are very occupied in forming friendships, sharing and learning different strategies of play, co-operation and functioning within a group. Where ever a child is socially we ensure s/he feels secure.

Birthdays are also celebrated in the nursery in groups with peers and practitioners.
